The second question: Today, when I checked my page in Lang-8, my computer told me "you shouldn't login."

The reason why you can't access it is that they changed from https to http, which is not secure. For any site which uses http, most people cannot access it safely. I don't know why they changed it though, as it was recently https. Very strange!
You can ignore the warnings on some computers if you mess with the settings. I don't think anything bad will happen with lang8. But in general, you shouldn't access sites with http as your information is not safe.

I thin what happened is because Lang-8 is closing soon, the site owners didn’t keep their security certificates up to date. Once they realised, they fixed the problem. It should be ok now until the site closes.

I decided to ignore the warning. I think that the worst thing that could happen would be someone stealing my username and password, but that wouldn’t really matter to me since I haven’t saved any important private information in my Lang-8 account.
