Doulingo
Cztery i pół lat w temu, zacząłem brać klasa polskiego w internecie. Ćwiczyłem dla wakacia do Polski. Cztery lata temu, pojechałem z moją rodzina do Polski na tydzień. Kiedy przyszłem do domu, przestałem ćwiczyć co dziennie. Dwie miesiące temu zacząłem ćwiczyć jeszcze ras i dzisiaj skończyłem klasa polski na Duolingo. Jeszcz mam duzo nauczyć, ale moze teraz będę mógł lepiej porozmawiać z moja babcią.
Four and a half years ago, I started taking Polish classes on the internet. I was practicing for a vacation to Poland. Four years ago, I went to Poland for a week with my family. When I came back home, I stopped practicing every day. Two months ago, I started practicing again, and today I finished the polish course on Doulingo. I still have a lot to learn, but maybe now I will be more able to talk with my babcia.

when you add "pół" roku temu (half a year ago), it will always end with "roku"
a year = rok
one year = jeden rok
one year ago = rok temu
two years = dwa lata
three years = trzy lata
four years = cztery lata
five years = pięć lat
six years = sześć lat
seven years = siedem lat
seven years ago = siedem lat temu
seven and a half years ago = siedem i pół roku temu
now I realize that it is weird that we only use "rok" when the amount is 1 but then we start using "lat/lata" when the amount increases. Something you need to learn by heart, because the rule originates from way past I guess. Also, please notice that with 2, 3 and 4 years we use "lata" but then further on it's just "lat"

or "Ćwiczyłem na wakacje w Polsce", it's really hard to translate it to Polish. Full sentence could be "Ćwiczyłem, żeby spędzić wakacje w Polsce" or "Ćwiczyłem w celu spędzenia wakacji w Polsce"

Even Poles make sometimes this mistake (przyszłem instead of przyszedłem) so don't worry much about it :D
however in this case, "wróciłem" fits better, because "przyszedłem" implies that you got back to the place on foot and it would sound weird if you used "przyszedłem do domu" after you just came back from the airport

this sentence is not really that wrong, however we would rather say "ale może teraz będę w stanie lepiej się dogadać/porozumieć z moją babcią"

overall your ability would allow you to get along with any Polish person, so that is already an achievement :)
this language is hard and you are great for trying to learn it. Keep on going and don't stop if you feel overwhelmed. Small step by step and you will get there :)
