Today my mom came back from her hometown, it was a four day trip. She brought home some cookies and bread that reminded her of her childhood.
My brother made coffee, and she told us about all the things she saw, all the things that changed over time. The last time she went to her hometown it was almost forty years ago so, many things were different, but she was happy; exhausted, but happy. I could picture her smiling throughout those days remembering the things she thought forgotten.
But the happy mood changed in the blink of an eye when she saw the pile dirty dishes we didn't do in those five days. In my defense I was going to take care of them later at night, I swear! But she wouldn't listen and started to point out to all the things that where dirty or messy around the house, and of course my brother's shoes in the living room did not help our case.
After a few minutes of chaos my mom took a deep breath and told us she was happy to see us. My brother and I hugged her, we were even happier to see her, we had missed her a lot.
She loves us, but I'm guessing my mom went to sleep thinking she gave birth to sloths.
