Questa mattina ho trascorso buona parte del tempo a cercare una mantella per il mio costume di Halloween. Al lavoro avremo l’occasione di travestirci, e inizialmente volevo vestirmi da Triste Mietitore.
Purtroppo, non sono riuscita a trovare una mantella da nessuna parte, quindi ho deciso di semplificare: mi vestirò tutta di nero e indosserò una fascia con le orecchie da gatto.
Per me è più importante sentirmi a mio agio che avere un costume speciale.

"Tristo Mietitore" è usato, ma è più comune usare direttamente la parola "Morte" (con la maiuscola dà l'idea della personificazione)
Purtroppo, non sono riuscita a trovare una mantella da nessuna parte, quindi ho deciso di semplificare:
mi vestirò tutta di nero e indosserò una fascia con le orecchie da gatto.
Per me è più importante sentirmi a mio agio che avere un costume speciale.

Adding "mio" makes it sound more natural. Also, although the word "mantella" exists, it is not the same thing as "mantello" (cloak).
