I met another language learner who was looking to learn mines. I am puertorrican and her family is puerrtorican so she wanted to learned slangs and the accent. We made click immediately, and also have a lot in common as far as they way we think. It is really fun to communicate with someone switching both languages and yet understand each other so good. She lives in the Northeast of the US so I have only met her online, but someday we hope we will meet each other in person. I also have made some bond with foreigner coworkers since I started working in my recent job. Still, I would like to meet some friends where I am living now and get some coffee with. The thing is, is hard bonding in other language. I may be interfering in my own way thinking that I can not be understood and not understand english speakers. I am talking about english native speakers because is the language that I am learning. I always feel nervous when is time to speak my second language. I stammer a lot trying to say things fast and linking words.
I think I have to build my confidence in order to one day get over that. Some people make me comfortable and those are the ones who I can speak the most. I guess some day I will.

I agree that this is very, very difficult at first. Someone gave me this advice and it has worked for me: "Talk as much as you can while thinking as little as possible." I laughed at first but she was right. People don't care whether I'm perfect at speaking and later I realize the corrections I need to make and try to remember them for the next conversation. Now it's become fun and I'm not nervous any more.
You write very well! Keep up the good work!

"we clicked" implies that you have a lot in common with the way you think, so you don't need to write the second half.
It is really fun to communicate with someone this way. We're switching bothetween languages and, yet we understand each other so goodwell.
If feels more natural in English to me to break these into two sentences instead of trying to force the entire second half into a noun clause.

I understand your struggle with being afraid of speaking to others in the language you're learning. I feel the same way about Japanese, which is the language I'm learning. But speaking to people is one of the foundations of language learning, so it's very important that you keep speaking to other English speakers. I'll do the same.
