So sorry for replying only after two weeks.

I was thinking that what I needed was to write more back in December when I hit a wall with speaking orientated practice. I was taking lessons with a tutor but the conversations were always the same and the teacher didn’t provide a model to work with for scenarios I was unfamiliar with. The teacher would just say think in Hindi without actually telling me how to say what I wanted. It was very frustrating in the end. I figured if I knew how to write my thoughts in Hindi that speaking would also become easier. That way I can also track mistakes and keep a record. Unfortunately there aren’t that many people who speak Hindi that are active on langcorrect.

Not sure if you are looking for a pen pal or a speaking partner at the moment but I would love to correspond using langcorrect or some other form of pen pal type situation. I’m also still trying to finish off my thesis still, so I don’t have a lot of extra time to have proper planned exchanges. I will have to let you know in a couple of months from now if you’re interested in having a more structured exchange. I live in The Hague if that helps at all.

How are you doing at the moment with your Dutch? Was the feedback helpful? Let me know if something wasn’t clear, please. I’ll try to give some feedback on the other posts you made in the coming weeks too. I think I added feedback to 3 or 4 already but you had more, so will try to get to those too. 🙏

Hey, no worries at all, thanks for responding! I completely understand where you are coming from. I think what helped me most was just starting to listen to podcasts and forcing myself to read more (in Dutch I mean). Reading might be a bit more annoying for you since it's a whole different script but Idk, maybe you're already okay with that(?) And it is for sure an unbeatable way of training your brain with regards to sentence structures and picking up new vocabulary. And of course I have no tutor experience in Hindi, but I'd be happy to think along and come up with something.

Your feedback was super useful and honestly much more detailed than most feedback on this website, it was really really great, thanks! I live in Utrecht and yes it would be pretty great to have some kind of language exchange situation. I also work not too far from Den Haag so I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard.

I'm happy to keep using langcorrect for now since you're working on your thesis (also good luck with that, I hope it's going well) and if you do put up any new text I'll correct it. And I'm very happy to set up something more structured once you have more time. And once I also figure out how to exchange more contact info without it being very public haha. Like maybe discord or reddit or so :D

Btw I already burnt a bit from enjoying the sun too much lol so don't forget the sunscreen ;)

And as for reading, I absolutely agree. Most of my exposure to Hindi has been via reading. Now the next step is to turn what I read into something that can also come out of my own head and mouth 😂.
