Today, the Japanese National Collegiate Powerlifting Championship was held for the first time in two years. One of our team's coaches was broadcasting the championship, so I was watching it online. Unfortunately, our team was not able to win the championship, but they won the second place.

One of our team's coaches was broadcastlive-streaming the championship, so I was watching it online.
"broadcasting" is fine here, but it's usually used for big companies/organizations. When individuals do it, especially on social media, people tend to use "live-streaming".
Unfortunately, our team was not able to win the championship, but they won the second place.
Yours wasn't strictly wrong, but this is more natural.
