Shame that I lost my streak. Last night, I was busy trying to meet the deadline and totally forget about this. Actually, I realized in my dream that I hadn't written anything on the 6th. Anyway, it feels good to be busy, and I'll do my best to keep practicing.

The phrase I usually hear is "it's a shame that...," but I could also imagine hearing someone saying your original sentence, however it wouldn't be under normal everyday circumstances, maybe someone trying to act in an overly exaggerated casual tone/fashion.
Last night, I was busy trying to meet the deadline and totally forget about this.
The way this is written, it sounds like "the deadline" refers to the "langcorrect deadline," but then it wouldn't make sense that you forgot about it whilst trying to do it. If it was a separate deadline, then you would need to explicitly state it somewhere, either in this sentence or a previous one. Here is a suggestion that would convey that:
"Last night, I was busy trying to meet a separate deadline and totally forget about this one."
