"Dead" is an adjective, or a word to describe someone or something. Death is an event (which is the best I can describe it). When saying you're spoiling a movie, book, etc for someone, there's no need to add the "you" since the context is assumed. Though, if you want to, you can put "I don't want to spoil the movie for you". Good job, though! The sentence is still easy to understand.
