Day 05: Winter Fatigue and Motivational Failure

Lately I've noticed that I'm tired all the time. My arms and legs are constantly heavy and I feel like I could sleep all day. Then it occurred to me that I had the same problem last year, so I decided to do something. I read about winter fatigue and I started taking vitamin D and magnesium. For the first 3 weeks they solved the whole problem.

In the last few days my symptoms came back. It's not good. I have to find out, what's wrong. Maybe I take too little magnesium, so I need to take more tomorrow. I should go a blood test anyway.

In the meantime I'm struggling with some kind of motivational crisis. I barely have enough motivation to even live. I need to find a way to get back on track because I have to continue the work on my thesis.

Feedback

1. I don't know if this applies to where you live, but I mention it in case it does: in places where there is much less sun in winter, some people are affected strongly in the ways you describe. It is called Seasonal Affective Disorder, and the remedy is light that mimics sunlight.
2.When you feel that you "barely have enough motivation to even live," it's a good idea to talk about that with people who care about you and can offer support (or if it's the middle of the night, you can call a 24/7 hotline). Writing about it here is an important first step if you haven't talked to anyone yet. We are here for you, but all we can do is write back.
3.Do you think that the lack of humidity in your apartment is also a factor this year?

Thank you for your feedback again!
Yes, I already read about SAD and in the winter is a bit dark in my country. Maybe that's my problem.
Don't worry, I don't feel like I don't want to live anymore, it's not that bad. But thanks anyway, it's good you mentioned it.
I think... yes, maybe the lack of humidity is also a factor. In the winter, the humidity is always too low. And I've been chatting a lot in English for days now, so I think it's a little too much for my nerves and this increases magnesium deficiency. The return of my symptoms pretty much coincides with this, so I think that's why.
