Yesterday was a good day, because I received "kudos" when I showed the advance of my thesis to my Professor. Despite the praise I wasn't very happy because I was expecting some corrections, or some guidance. That's because I consider I'm just doing the basics and we could make a better analysis about the data.
Today was a chill day. In the morning I attended to my German lection, that was very boring because we just studied grammar. I prefer to watch a tv show and analyze sentences.

"The" is used for a specific thing. Since you're talking about a general thing, use "a". If you were Einstein talking about his thesis on the theory of relativity, for emphasis, you could say "the thesis by Einstein" but in general you'd say " a thesis" and this point stands for most things. "A" is used in the general sense, "the" is only used when the reader knows exactly which thing you are referring to. Hope that helps
