Daily Life: Part 6

Today, I prefer to chat something about habit. Last night, I scrolled my phone for 3 hours, because I can not stop watching short videos. That was terrible! I think it waste so many times that I can use. I feel my brain controls my body as saying "keep slipping, boy". What can I do to kill this bad habit. Do you have any recommend for me. just leave it under the feedback square. If you do, I would be happy with that all day!

What can I do to kill this bad habit.?

Do you have any recommendations for me.?

Feedback

I recommend reading a book or something under a lamp, if you have one. By the way, all of the corrections I made were mainly punctuation and grammar-based in order to make things make sense. Feel free to ask any questions about my edits!

Firstly, thanks for fixing me. Actually, I do have some details about grammar. I'm always confused about when or where I should use corrected tense. You know, there are a lot of tenses in English. It makes me crazy!

With tenses, just make sure things are consistent. For example, if you constantly refer back to something you did in the past, always use words in the past tense (e.g. "spoke," "scrolled," "watched," etc.). The same thing goes for present and future tense, at least, in English. I hope this can serve as a good starting point!

Last night, I scrolled my phone for 3 hours, because I canould not stop watching short videos.

(1) You're writing about the past, so the past tense might be more appropriate. In this particular case, howevever, the present tense is also acceptable, if you not being able to stop scrolling is a general fact.
(2) By the way, "cannot" is more commonly spelt as one word. "Can not" might have a different nuance.

ThaIt was terrible!

"That" sounds a little awkward here.

I think it wasted so manyuch times that I can us which I could have spent doing something more productive.

(1) Mind the tense; you're writing about the past.
(2) In this context, "time" is an uncountable noun, so we use "much" instead of "many". For the same reason, we do not use "times" here.

I feel my brain controls my body as sayingby telling me to "keep slipping, boy"."

I changed parts of the sentence so that it sounds more natural.

What can I do to kill this bad habit.?

Do you have any recommendation for me.?

"Recommend" is a verb. "Recommendations" is the noun.

If you do, Iit would be happy with that allmake my day!

"Make (someone's) day" is a set phrase that perfectly fits what you mean to convey. It means to make someone happy for the entire day.

Feedback

I'm probably not the most qualified person to be giving advice on this. Personally, I've refrained from installing social media that center on short-form content such as Instagram and TikTok, so I've never run into an issue with short videos. (However, I do sometimes spend too much time watching long-form YouTube videos.)

When you're doing work, perhaps you can try placing your phone in a different room where it is out of sight. Research has shown that just keeping your phone near you can impair your ability to focus on other tasks.

I have to say that's a good idea! I will give it a shot. Maybe next time I will share this to see whether it works.
