My family’s habit is getting a little out of hand. They keep unnecessary things on hand in case of any situation but stuffs take too much space in our appartment. Should I have a word with them?

They keep unnecessary things on hand just in case of any situation but, but their stuffs takes up too much space in our appartment.
or instead of "just in case" you could say "in case of an emergency" or "for any situation"
