Did You Watch The Winter Olympics?

No, I didn't watch the recent Winter Olympics. Actually, neither did I follow any preceding ones. I just don't find it interesting to sit in front of the TV and cheer for some football (or whatever other sport there is) team. This kind of entertainment is definitely not as popular here in Russia as it is somewhere in the US. Even so, there are plenty of people who like to watch soccer matches recreationally, especially while having a beer. Since Russia is officially banned from competing at the Olympics, the Games barely got any media coverage, and overall there is no fuss about it here.

Using "somewhere" makes it feel like you have no idea where it's popular. In which case, even IF you don't know where it's popular, it still feels strange to say...
