Today, I have a special topic to discuss—aging. I am so fascinated by this topic that I must share it with you together with some of the information I have discovered on this topic so far.
It is no secret that as people age, they are more likely to become ill, and their bodies deteriorate. Doctors treat their illnesses, which are essentially the result of aging. Are these illnesses only the symptoms of aging, and, therefore, the ultimate illness to be treated is aging? That is one of the questions some scientists ask.
David Sinclair has come to my attention not so a long time ago, but since then he has astonished me with his work. He is a scientist at Harvard University leading about 20 others. Most of their research is done on mice. They can not only accelerate aging but also reverse it or read people's biological age from epigenetic information. They also restored lost sight in mice.
Now that he knows what causes aging, he also knows how to slow it down. For concrete information, I encourage you to watch some of his interviews on YouTube. He claims that people in their twenties should definitely aim to reach 100 years. You can reach about 94 if you do the right things in your life, which are: eat healthy food, do not overeat, do not become obese, do a bit of exercise, get good sleep, and do not stress. Then you have to focus a bit more to become a centenarian.
David says that he was not lucky enough as he was born too early to fully benefit from the discovery. Nonetheless, he employs many strategies that should slow down his aging. He employs intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast and lunch. He limits meat, especially red meat, but he eats fish and occasionally chicken. He avoids too much sugar and eats as many vegetables as possible. He also takes a number of supplements—NMN, resveratrol, metformin, vitamin D3, and vitamin K2.
Listen to some of his interviews to find more details on how aging works and how you can slow it down. You can also buy his book Lifespan, which should provide more detailed information on this topic. His research is truly ground-breaking!
I am certainly looking forward to his future discoveries.
