Cotton
When I was a child, people in my village planted cotton.
Autumn was the cotton harvesting time. They picked the cotton and dried them under the sun.
Afterwards, they processed the cotton into many "cotton ears" in order to be made into cotton threads.
It seemed like every family had a manual thread making machine. People used the machine to make the "cotton ear" into many spindles of cotton thread.
My village had a few manual looms. Married women used the cotton thread and the looms to make cloth.
Mothers used the cloth to make clothes, sheets and shoes for their children. When I was a boy, ninety percent of my clothes were made of the cotton cloth by my mother.
Nowadays, people in my village don't plant cotton anymore. They work in cities to make money and use the money to buy clothes for their families.
