I read "Convenience Store Woman" today. The story was interesting but not exhilarating. I felt somehow grotesque. The main character is a sociopath and she is working a part-time job at a convenience store for 18 years. Her all lifestyle is determined by the job. Another main character is a man who hates society. His attitude and behavior were selfish and disgusting. However, I finished reading it without a break, so the book is good.
Convenience Store Woman
I read "Convenience Store Woman" today.
The story was interesting but not exhilarating.
I felt somehow grotesque.
The main character is a sociopath and she iswho workings a part-time job at a convenience store for 18 years.
What you wrote is technically correct, but varying the verb structure in the second part of the sentence (changing "she is working" to "who works") sounds more natural.
Her all lifestyle is determined by the job.
Another main character is a man who hates society.
His attitude and behavior weare selfish and disgusting.
It's conventional to use the present tense when discussing literary characters.
However, I finished reading it without a break, so the book is good.
Feedback
It sounds like, even though you didn't identify with the characters, there was something about this book that sucked you in! Maybe I will check it out.
