It was a coming of age day today in Japan. People who become 20 years of age celebrate being an adult. It’s one of the Japanese traditional events. Have you ever heard of it?

The dates are according to Wikipedia.

An essay is usually something much longer, with multiple paragraphs. Instead you could say “journal entry” or something similar.

you can also say “people who turned 20 years old”. Also, I changed it to “became” because i’m assuming everyone is already 20 at this event” but if not it should be “people who will become 20...”
