I have lived in different places in different countries: in a small town, in a metropolis and near the beach.
And eventually I can say I was happy in each of them. The truth is that we choose not the place, we choose our feelings, our conditions in the place.
In my childhood I was living in a small town with my parents. It was green, tiny, quiet city. I went to the school there, I visited music school and church as well, I walked with friends. It was enough for me. I didn't dream about more.
But after school I needed to go to university and there was not a big choice in a small town. So, I moved in Moscow. As you possibly know, this a huge city. It was extremely different: a lot of people, great places for walking, huge traffic, amazing speed of life. I felt on love with this city because I was young, I wanted to get everything from my life. After while, I found this place perfect for me. But I was getting older, I got married and I started to think about calmer place for life. I was a bit past for hanging out and hard working like people in big cities.
One day, my husband and I moved to foreign county to try to live near the Sea. There was quiet, calm place again and our friends were saying: "It's so boring". However it was perfect place for us: we swam every day, we had perfect sunny weather almost every day, we ate a lot of fruits, enjoyed our life, had minimal stress. Maybe I tend to idealize, but I find this place perfect for life.
Finally, I should say again, the most important thing is our condition, and during our life we can feel comfortable in totally different places.
