When I was young, I used to buy fashionable clothes and suits. A tie and a belt, however, once cost me half a month's salary. Just several months ago, when I cleaned my wardrobe; considering I would have few opportunities to be in very formal places, I threw all the ties to the bin.
Nowadays, nearly all of my clothes are bought online by my wife. She generally selects the most valuable ones for me, and I also refuse to buy expensive ones many times. It's so comfortable to wear leisure and casual clothes.
