Closing of One Language Exchange Site

A language exchange site, Lang-8, which I had been with for more than 10 years, closed on February 29. Several years ago, it already announced that it would end the service. That’s why I opened my account here on LangCorrect in 2022 just in case.

I visited Lang-8 after the closing date because I was curious to know how it would be. To my surprise, it was still there as usual. Then I realized that it was open until when it will turn March 1 in all the countries.

I went to the site this morning, March 2 in Japan, another language site, the logo of HiNative, appeared. The founder of Lnag-8 has also run it and it seems like a lucrative business. As many Lang-8 users said that HiNative is not interesting, I ignored it.

A former member of Lang-8 has been working hard to develop its improved language site, Nyan-8. It will be released in weeks to come. I’ve already signed up on it and am looking forward to its releasing.

Then I realized that it was open until when it willit turned March 1 in all the countries.

*When* I went to the site this morning, (March 2 in Japan, another language site,) the logo of HiNative, appeared, another language site.

I tried to rearrange your sentence in a more natural order. Please note how I shifted the phrases "another language site" and "the logo of HiNative appeared", to make a different progression. Since you have a very good knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, it may be helpful to consider readability as well.

The founder of Lnang-8 has also runs it, and it seems like a lucrative business.

As many Lang-8 users said that HiNative is not interesting, I ignored it.

Thank you for correcting my entry and letting me know alternative expressions.

I didn't know there are several ways to write a title. I often wondered why a title was written this or that way, which are different from what I had learned. My long-time question was solved. Thanks.

Several years ago, it had already announced that it would end the service.

That’s why I opened my account here on LangCorrect in 2022, just in case.

It seems to me that the comma is useful because "just in case" is an afterthought.

Then I realized that it was open until when it willit turns March 1 in all the countries.

When I went to the site this morning, March 2 in Japan, another language site, with the logo of HiNative, appeared.

The founder of Lnang-8 has also run it, and it seems like a lucrative business.

AsBecause many Lang-8 users said that HiNative is not interesting, I ignored it.

A former member of Lang-8 has been working hard to develop its improved language site, Nyan-8.

The use of "its" implies that Nyan-8 is designed as an improvement over Lang-8. If it has nothing to do with Lang-8, then I would write "to develop an improved language site."

I’ve already signed up on it and am looking forward to its releasinge.
