Christmas is here

I do not know how it works in other countries, but in mine, we celebrate christmas since middle of november! Our tradition is assemble the christmas tree and decorate the house in family before december. I love this time of the year because I can spend quality time with my family and friends, we like to go out and had food, shopping, and see all the christmas lights around the city. I know every country has its own traditions, but something that characterize mine, is that on the day seven of december, we light candles at night to conmemorate the living and bring prosperity.

Please tell me what kind of tradition do you have in your country!

In the Netherlands / Belgium we also have been celebrating the arrival of Sinterklaas since November :)

Our tradition is to assemble the cChristmas tree and decorate the house inwith family before dDecember.

"Assemble" has the nuance of "putting pieces together". For a tree, something like "put up" might be more suitable -> "Our tradition is to put up the Christmas tree..."

That sounds lovely! I don't have much experience since I don't celebrate Christmas myself, but in Canada people put up lots of lights and decorations, and there's a big shopping culture with lots of sales and events.
