Allow me to suggest a little change or two so that the text might be able to flow in a more natural-sounding way (certainly in everyday spoken English):
"As a result, I will now do what I really want to do without considering the possible consequences in the years to come."
I really don't know what the world will be like, or even I would still live in the worldwhether/ if I will still be living.
Note that "if" and "whether" perform the same function here: each indicates the "doubt" in the sentence.
