Feedback
"Our apartment is being renovated." Is the correct sentence as the sentence "our apartment is renovating" would be saying that your apartment is renovating itself while you mean to say that your apartment is being renovated by someone else.
Can I say, "Our apartment is renovating.", or does it hasve to be, "our apartment is being renovated."
Can I say, "Our apartment is renovating.", or does it have to be, "our apartment is being renovated."
Feedback
While the previous correctors are not wrong, you can actually say "Our apartment is renovating such and such" when you are using "apartment" as a shorthand way to refer to the apartment management company or landlord. So "Our apartment management is renovating the pool" becomes "Our apartment is renovating the pool." "Our apartment complex is renovating the pool." also works. However the direct object (ie. "the pool") is always stated. "Our apartment is renovating." by itself sounds wrong. However, you CAN say "Our apartment is doing renovations." without having to state what's being renovated.

'Our apartment is being renovated' is correct here. To renovate means to fix a house, so a person can renovate something, but an apartment cannot.
Feedback
Look into the difference between active and passive voice. "I am doing something" is active, and "something was being done by me" is passive. The order of the subject and object are swapped when you use passive.
