When I was a child living in the countryside, there were many cicadas in my village during summer.
On summer days, the most interesting thing for children to do was catch cicadas.
Here are three methods that children use to catch cicadas.
Method 1
Find a long and thin bamboo. Use wheat flour and water to make a dough and stir the dough to make it sticky. Attach a small piece of the dough to the thin end of the bamboo. Hold the bamboo and use the dough at the thin end of the bamboo to touch cicadas' wings.
Method 2
Find an empty plastic bag used to hold washing powder and a piece of iron wire. Use one end of the wire to get through the opening of the bag and keep the opening round. Attach the wire to the thin end of the bamboo. Now, you can use the plastic bag to cover cicadas.
Method 3
Pull a hair from a horse's tail and make one end of the hair a tight-able circle. Attach the other end of the hair to the thin end of the bamboo. Now you can use the hair to bind cicadas.
The above three methods were the common methods that us children used to catch cicadas when we were younger.

I'm not sure what "tight-able" is so this correction is my best guess.
Attach the other end of the strand of hair to the thin end of the bamboo.
