I've always been more of a cat person(we do have two cats at home), but recently I started to think about getting a dog.
It takes me 45 minutes every morning to drive kids to school and get myself to work. Then I spend all day sitting at the desk and then another 30 minutes of sitting in the car to get home.
Although I know that it is not so good for one's health to be so inactive person. But in the evenings, after I come home, I no longer have the motivation or energy to go for a walk.
So getting a dog and forcing myself to go for a walk started to look like a very good idea. What do you think?

Very amazing! Little to no problems, most problems were simply with nuance.
Then I spend all day sitting at the desk, and then(I spend) another 30 minutes of sitting in the car to get home.
You can optionally add the "I spend" in parentheses, but that's what's being implied in the sentence.
Although I know that it is not so good for one's health to be so inactive person.
So, getting a dog and forcing myself to go for a walks is starteding to look like a very good idea.
I would put this in the progressive, because you haven't bought the dog yet. So it's starting to look like a good idea, but once you're convinced, you'll actually do it.

Get the dog! :D It sounds like you're already responsible enough for pets, you have kids who can help out, and it sounds like it could motivate a healthier lifestyle. Maybe see if you can establish a walking habit without the dog, first though. I would worry that you get a dog, still don't take it for walks because you're tired, and then you just have the same situation + a hyperactive, expensive pet. If you can go for walks 3 times a week for 3 weeks, get the dog.
Can owning a dog make you more active?
