The other day, there was a ceremony of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Aichi Prefecture.
So I did a little research on what happened 150 years ago.
150 years ago, in Meiji 5th (in 1872), was the year of the calendar revision.
Until December 2nd, in Meiji 5th (in 1872), Japan used the lunisolar calendar, but from the following day it switched to the solar calendar (Gregorian calendar).
As a result, the day after December 2nd, in Meiji 5th (in 1872) became January 1st, in Meiji 6th (in 1873).
People must have been very confused at the time.

I wasn't sure how what "Meiji 5th" meant here so didn't know how to correct. Otherwise nice work!

Thank you for your corrections.
Meiji is one of the Japanese era names.
The Meiji era means the years 1868 to 1912 on the Gregorian calendar.
