In order to let my student practice writing in Japanese, I just signed up on this website.
I used to use Lang8 but it closed now, so I searched some good websites and finally found this site.
Now a days, we can use AI to correct sentences.
How come do you use this website?
One of the reasons I use this is that we can communicate with people, not AI.
If I wonder if I'm not sure that my sentence is correct, I would use AI to check it. In addition, it teaches some better expression as well.
But it is no more than corrections.
On the other hand, we can communicate to people while correcting sentences. That is so awesome because it's the purpose of languages.

Your English is very good and you make some great points about why we would use this website as opposed to just using AI. For me, I like this website because I think there are many ways to talk and express yourself. At least in English, no one talks the same and everyone uses different expressions and nuances and word choices. So by communicating here and practicing here, I hope to gain some insights and nuances of foreign languages that will play more to my personality when speaking another language. Because I agree, AI can tell us whether our use of grammar or spelling is correct, but it usually only gives us one answer, one way of saying something but I know when speaking naturally and with native speakers, there is a myriad number of ways to express one thing.
