Buqing Su is a famous mathematician and scholar from China, and was once the headmaster of Fudan university. He was born in 1901 in a poor farmer family. So he work in the farmlands when he was little, such as grazing bulls, cutting grass, ploughing fields, and many other things. He thought that he will never have the chance of geting an education.
Luckily, there was a wealthy family in the neighborhood who hired a teacher to teach their son. When Buqing Su was available, he would listen to the class outside the window, and taking notes. In the end, the rich family's son did not turned out to be good in his study, but Buqing Su got a lot of knowledge instead. Su's uncle saw that Su was this hard to study, so he took some money and convinced Su's father to send Su to the closest elementry school to them which is 100 miles away.
In the first semester of elementry school, Su got the last place in class in a test. The teacher called him to the office, but he did not criticize Su, in the other hand, he encouraged Su with lots of effort. That moved Su a lot, so he decided to rise in great vigor. From the next semester to the end of college, he is always the first place in class in every test.
Buqing Su is a model of making best use of his time and study hard. He read lots of books from the beginning of primary school. When he hands his artical to his teacher in middle school, the teacher reads and finds that its way of writting is similar to the famous acient book 《Zuozhuan》, so the teacher suspect Su that he didn't write it himself. So the teacher decided to test Su in class, and point to an artical in 《Zuozhuan》 and asked Su what this artical is about. Unexpectedly, Su can recite the whole artical to the teacher. This surprises the teacher and all the classmates. It turned out that he read 《Zuozhuan》so much that he could recite it!
