I have various versions of the Bible at home.
Christians do not agree on which version of the English Bible to use.
Instead, each denomination tends to have its own preferred canon and translations, meaning that different place names appear in different Bibles.
The Bible I'm using is the New Revised Standard Version, which was one that my late grandma gave to me.
No matter which version, there's a biblical map in the last few pages.
I often look at the biblical map of the Middle East, the geographical region where the Bible originally came from.
The word "Israel" is the most frequently mentioned place in the Bible; the word Israel is used 2485 times.
This makes sense, because that is where almost all the Bible stories are set.
There are many biblical names that can apply to the region discussed as Isreal from Canaan, Samaria, Bethlehem, Nazareth and Bethany.
Located on the Mediterranean coast, Gaza used to be the land of the Philistines in ancient times.
In the Book of Judges, Samson was imprisoned in Gaza.
