I find Chinese letters fascinating with so much history behind each words or family of words. However, it is jarring to attempt to memorize a lot of words, especially in a short time. Naturally I question such system: can you effectively communicate how you feel, who you are and what you think if you can't remember all the"big words"?
English isn't perfect but it is much easier to start learning and advancing. Granted, for English, I think one must make an effort to reach a level of natural proficiency since almost everyone (in the world even) can speak and write broken English
Thanks for the prompt. Happy to hear what you think
(Also please correct, I want to learn haha)

Chinese letters vs the Latin Alphabet
This alphabet is used for many languages including French, Spanish, Italian so I think it is better to called it the Latin Alphabet, since it comes from Latin.

I love Chinese characters, but they are much more effort to learn. However once you can read them, I think reading them is much faster.
I think both Chinese characters and English words have fascinating etymologies. But the radicals and combination of the Chinese characters is quite an interesting insight into how people conceived of the concept behind the words.
