It's nice to cuddle when you're at the beginning of a relationship.
It makes you feel wanted and loved. It communicates trust and safety. And as social creatures, we seek out human contact. But after a few years in a relationship, we lose the desire for this type of human touch, especially when it's hot.
A few days ago, I was in bed, unsuccessfully trying to sleep, when I decided to hug my boyfriend. You know, I thought It would help me relieve all the anxiety I was feeling. I was soon to found out that was not effective.
It was a really humid night. The fan was off, and it was almost 1 in the morning.
I think I managed to snuggle with my boyfriend for 2 minutes before rolling back to my side. I felt very uncomfortable. I didn't know where to put my arm. I tried to wrap one arm around his waist and I put the other underneath my pillow, but it didn't work out. I couldn't find the right position to lay my head properly on my pillow either. Then he turned his face to me and started to breathe on my face, and that was extremely annoying, but I stayed there and didn't move. Then I couldn't breathe because it's difficult for me to breathe when people are blowing air in my face. On top of that, I began to feel really hot because it was around 30 degrees in the room. We started to sweat, and that's when I realized it was not worth it. I rolled back to my side of the bed and started to watch a series on Netflix, hoping that that would relax me.
Suddenly a thought crossed my mind. You're not a cuddler, at least not in summer. And to be honest, I was fine with that.
Are you a cuddler?

"need" sounds weird in this sentence. I think it is because it is usually meant for things vital for survival, and cuddling, unlike water or food, doesn't fit as a "need". One thing I will note here, is that the need for human contact and other exaggerated examples do often appear, but only when you are intending to exaggerate.

Removed another "then" to make it flow better by not repeating the same word too often.
