Appreciation for grocery van

Every Tuesday evening, the grocery van comes into my neighborhood moving down the hill nearby. Hearing the nostalgic bugle far away, I dash out of the kitchen.

Around 10 years ago my husband happened to spot the van in our neighborhood and talked to the seller, "Hey, why don't you come over to my house?" Such being the case, there were times when I had to buy something like deep-fried tofu, although knowing that the fridge was packed.

However, those good old days were gone past. Now we have got older and deeply appreciate the van for coming even in such terrible weather that we cannot go shopping. Apparently, the neighbors older than us buy things from the van on many occasions. It makes me happy to hear neighbors having a cheerful talk with the seller younger than our son, "We missed you! What's your recommendation today?"

The grocery van business does not look like an easy job lately because they have started to sell a wider range of groceries including vegetables grown by the local farmers on commission. Having said that, a once-a-week visit by the van gives a valuable opportunity for us to interact with each other. I also appreciate it. Hoping the driver is free of accidents, I'll wait for the weekly bugle.

I alsodefinitely appreciate it.

"also" is unnatural because we can already infer that you appreciate it from the previous sentence, so I modified this sentence to just add emphasis

Hoping the driver is free of accidentsdrives safely, I'll wait for the weekly bugle.

"I wait" is probably more natural. Although it's present tense, it would be interpreted as continuing habitually into the foreseeable future.
