I learned English from Disney Channel

Let me tell you about the summer in which I learned English. But first, let's flash back a few years.

For me English was just another subject at school, my grades were good enough to pass, and I didn't really mind it. But one year I said to myself I wanted, but REALLY wanted to learn English and I didn't really know how, because it was summer. So In the mean time I started watching Disney Channel in English, Hannah Montana, Sonny with a Chance, the Wizards of Waverly Place, and so on (those three shows define who I am as a person today, tbh). I forgot to say I watched them with subtitles. And after that summer, armed with the basic knowlodge I gathered through the years in school, things began to click and to make sense. And after that, I started getting good grades and enjoying the language.

Do you have an interesting story learning another language?

For me English was just another subject at school, my grades were good enough to pass, andso I didn't really mind it.care to improve. For me English was just another subject at school, my grades were good enough to pass, so I didn't really care to improve.

The phrase "mind it" to me implies there was some problem or nuisance. I think this retains the meaning of "It wasn't an issue, I just didn't care." Also changed "and" to "so" to create a purpose clause. Both are suggestions, but yours is also correct. :)

But one year I said to myself I wanted, but REALLY wanted to learn English and I didn't really know how, because it was summer.

Added comma between "exposition clause" and added a colon. The colon is not strictly necessary, but it common in front of a list.

I forgot to say I watched them with subtitles.
