A Talking Night

In the morning, the power in town was off because of the fixing. We were noticed that the fixing would be fine in10 hours, but it lasted for more than 12 hours eventually.
The middle school students had to stay at school. There was no light in the classroom, so they stood in the balcony. I asked them to go to the platform in front of the building and sit together with me, so that we could have a talk. But they walked around soon.
I asked a boy who transfered to our school this term to sit down with me. His grandfather talked something about him to me tonight, so I wanted to know him more.
He talked about his recent situation and the past. I also asked him a lot of information about his roommates, therefore I could know my students better.
I found out a boy smoking cigarette last night, and asked him guarantee that he would never do it again. He made a verbal promise and wrote a paper promise to me. But I was told that he smoked this morning very early, and in case of being caught by me again, he brushed his teeth and took a shower before going th calssroom.
Though I told him that I wouldn't trust him last night, I did believe in him. I realized I was too naive.

A Talking Night

In the morning, the power in town was off because of the fixingrepairs.

I assume the fixing of the power.

We were noticfied that the fixingrepairs would be fineished in 10 hours, but ithey ended up lasteding for more than 12 hours eventually.

The middle school students had to stay at school.

There was no light in the classroom, so they stood ion the balcony.

I asked them to gocome to the platform in front of the building and sit together with me, so that we could have a talk.

"Have a talk" implies that you have a specific goal in mind for the conversation (e.g. "I had a talk with him about his behavior in class," where the goal is to make him understand that he has been behaving poorly.) Instead you might say "so that we could talk/chat/have a conversation."

But they walked around sooninstead.

I asked a boy who transferred to our school this term to sit down with me.

His grandfather talkedhad told me something about him to meearlier tonight, soand I wanted to get to know him more.

"So" implies that before the grandfather told you something, you did not want to get to know the student more. You might mean that "the grandfather told me something that made me want to learn more about the student's background."

He talked about his recent situation and thehis past.

I also asked him a lot of information about his roommates, therefore I couldin order to get to know my students better.

"Therefore" is a little fancy and is basically 因此, and here implies that asking him about his roommates compelled you to want to get to know your students better.

Last night I found out a boy smoking a cigarette last night, and I asked him to guarantee to me that he would never do it again.

Where you put "last night" was correct but awkward.

He made a verbal promise and wrote a paper promise to me.

ButHowever, I was told that he smoked this morning very early, and in case of being caught by me again, he this morning, and brushed his teeth and took a shower before going th calssroomo the classroom in order to avoid being caught by me again.

Usually you shouldn't start a sentence with "but," "and," or "because."

TAlthough I told him last night that I wouldn't trust him last night, I did believe in him.

I realized I was too naive.
