Lianxi is its name, and it got this name in the Song Dynasty from a famous litterateur Zhou Dunyi. He was also a great philosopher and an able official at that time.

I've never seen the word 'litterateur' before - so I learnt a new word reading this! I'd probably put "writer" myself (since I've never seen `litterateur` I wouldn't have know it was even an option), but it's not wrong at all - just unusual.
He was also a great philosopher and an capable official at that time.
I don't know why, but 'capable' seems better here than 'able'. Same meaning, and 'able' isn't wrong at all, so I don't know why I really want to use "capable" instead but I do!
His thoughts and ideas affected other philosophers and writers for hundreds of years.
It didn't affect the years (time itself), it affected the people during the years.
