There's a few ways to change "learn a news" to sound more natural. Any of these also work:

"because I'll learn something that..."
"because I'll find out something that..."
"because I'm expecting news that..."

This correction says that there will be 18 students chosen, and you hope you are one of them.

If you mean there are 18 students and you hope you are the one chosen, you can say:

"I hope I'll be the one chosen from the 18 students (in my class)."
