I've been learning Japanese sign language.
I introduce the sign word I learned today.
Raising a middle finger means "f※ck you" in the US, but in Japanese sign language it means "brother".
To be precise, moving up your arm while raising your middle finger means "elder brother", and moving down the arm means "younger brother".
When you visit Japan and see a Japanese person raising his middle finger, please don't take it for "f※ck you".
He just talks about his brother.

中指をあげるジェスチャーは、アメリカでは「f※ck you」を意味しますが、日本の手話では「兄弟」を意味します。
詳しく言うと、中指を立てたまま上方向へ持っていくと兄を意味し、下方向へ持っていくと弟を意味する。
