The school that I studied at was 中等专业技术学校 in Chinese, and the short name of it was 中专. Back then, if you were good enough in your academic grades to be able to go to a 中专学校, it meant that you had passed the national civil servants exam (there was no this exam back then), so after you graduated from a 中专学校, the government would assign you a job working for the government.
Going to high school was pretty easy at that time. Everyone could go to a high school as long as they wanted.
I started learning English in September of 2019, but I think I wasted the first year because I studied English like I did in middle school, and the way had no help with my writing and speaking.
In July of 2020, a kind tutor in Italki told me about a website where language learners helped each other with their writings.
One year later, I could write in English although I made mistakes. But I found that I still couldn't speak English. (When I decided to practice writing in English, I thought that if I wrote well, then I would speak well.)
So in July of 2021, I began to book online lessons to practice speaking. Even now, I still book lessons for one class per day.
I never had a native English speaker on Hello talk to talk to me in English.
If I made any progress in English, I should thank that website and the online lessons. Of course, a few language partners also contributed to it.
PS:
I have already changed the interface of my phone to English.
If I were you, I wouldn't learn a second foreign language because I think Chinese and English are enough. We should use our time on other more important things.

'that' is used as you are referring to a specific way
'had no' isn't incorrect but 'didn't' sounds more natural
