Hi Memory, good morning.

Now, I just saw a short video on Douyin and it reminded me of one thing you once said in our WeChat group.

Maybe it's yesterday, we played a game that translated Chinese into English. After that, I saw that you gave some corrections to Lucy.

There were two corrections in total. The first one is about the infinitive. Lucy used"ing" form-verb behind "to"-the symbol of infinitive.

The second one I think is about present continuous tense. I forgot the original sentence already, but I still know what the problem is.

For example, "I am eating", "I was laughing". Lucy dropped the verb "be". I thought you were right.

But just now, I saw the video. It was like "I came to this world to see the sun rising up". I suddenly thought, maybe Lucy used ing-verb this way.

Here, I think "rising up" is only an adverb to modify the "sun" instead of a component of a present continuous sentence.

Those are just my random thoughts. I am not sure if I am right or not.

There were two corrections in total.

The first one iwas about the infinitive.

Lucy used" the "-ing" form-verb behind "to"-the symbol of of a verb after "to," an indicator of an infinitive.

The second one I think iwas about present continuous present tense.

I forgot the original sentence already, but I still know what the problem iwas.

For example, "I am eating"," "I was laughing"."

Lucy dropped the verb, "to be".

I thought you were right.

But jJust now, however, I saw the video.

It was like, "I came to this world to see the sun rising up"."

I suddenly thought, maybe Lucy used the -ing-verb this way.

Thoese are just my random thoughts.

Feedback

I came to this world to see the sun rising up.
→ I came: subject-verb
→ to this world: where, location
→ to see the sun rising up. ← This is what I came to do in this world.
→ to see → start of phrase to do what
→ the sun rising up. → is the object of the phrase, "to see."

Nice work!
