In China,many people use WECHAT and QQ to chat on the internet.Are there many people using wechat in your area？ Although I know most people are using Facebook, can you tell me whether wechat is international？I am interesting in it!! thank you.By the way ,my favorite book is <<Three body>>How well-known is this book in your area？

WeChat is definitely not used very commonly in America, mostly due to restrictions by WeChat on foreign accounts and the fact that you need to speak Chinese to gain anything from it. Also, I'd say "The Three Body Problem" is one of the most famous Chinese books here, they had it front and center in a bookstore I went to recently. Unfortunately I haven't read it, I don't read a lot of science fiction, and as far as Chinese literature goes I'm more interested in other 文学家 like 鲁迅、余华、阎连科等.

I live in the United States. In the US, WeChat is very common among Chinese speakers, usually to communicate with family members back at home, or family members who live in the US but still use the program anyway. Outside of that group, basically nobody else uses WeChat. The same probably goes for QQ: Chinese speakers with family use it and nobody else. While many Americans know that WeChat exists, absolutely nobody other than chinese speakers knows that QQ exists. Its funny how such a big program can be completely unknown.
In the US, common chat programs are Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, and Whatsapp. There are many other chat platforms used, but they have much smaller userbases compared to these big ones.
Fun Fact! In the english, there's a program called Weechat! It is a client for the old chat protocol called IRC. Unlike these chat platforms, IRC is an open specification where anyone can write or host a server for it, and you can use any client that compatible with the protocol (like Weechat). Weechat is technically older than WeChat, but I'm sure the creators of Weachat didn't know about Weechat.
I know about the book 'The Three Body Problem'! I've wanted to read it for a long time, because many of my friends loved the book too. Ignoring science fiction readers though, I don't think it is widely known in the US.

"Three Body" is the literal translation of the novel 三体. If you're going to correct it, correct it to its officially localized english name: 'The Three Body Problem'.

First , thank you very much for correcting my mistakes again. Secondly, I want to say that China locks the local network. We can't contact areas outside China. If we forcibly contact networks outside China, we will commit a crime. So I don't know much about foreign countries. Many Chinese who don't study abroad are like this. The reason why I think wechat is famous is that many of my English coaches are using wechat. Maybe I don't know much about it.I'm glad to know this knowledge and let me know the correct name of the book. Thank you again.

Hello! I love China and I'm glad to see another Chinese person here! :) I live in France and I don't think Wechat and QQ are popular. I don't know anybody who uses them, except maybe if they are Chinese (there is a huge Chinese community in France) or are learning Chinese. I'm curious about the book you mentioned, I don't know it. You could talk about it more in another text :) Keep it up!
