Today is a great day so far, because I had the opportunity to talk with a couple of USAmericans.

The noun for people from the US is Americans. Geographically this seems a little silly, I know, like in other languages similar words mean anyone from the continent, including Canadians, Mexicans, Brazilians, etc., but Americans have called themselves that for so long that the term is only used for people from the US. If we want to talk about multiple countries, we would say North Americans, Central Americans, South Americans etc. (but not Southern Americans, that means people from Southern USA).
