I came across a video on YouTube today. it's about a mean schoolgirl, in a cheesy shallow story. It has some clickbait-ish vibe in a way.
However, the narrator's voice is just as awesome as an English material! It has a quite clear pronunciation with this whole daily life description, in a casual, colloquial way. And the context was very clear. this is something I was looking for.
The funny thing is, I would never be into this type of video unless this is in English.
I downloaded its audio and transcript straight away. haha! I fell for the trick.

Hmm I'm still not quite sure as I am not sure what the "trick" was that you fell for...
Maybe something like this is helpful:
"I went out on a limb and it paid off"
(which means I tried something new and it was worth it)
"It didn't think it would be my thing but I really enjoyed it"
(you can use "my thing" to refer to preferences)
"I fell for the clickbait thumbnail and it ended up being better than expected"

Yeah, you could use that phrase!
"Despite not being something I'd normally watch, I had a gut feeling that the video would be good, so decided to check it out."
"My gut feeling was the video would be rubbish; the thumbnail and title looked like clickbait. I decided to watch it anyway and it turned out to be surprisingly good. On this occasion, I'm glad I didn't listen to my gut!"
