A Legend

Almost all of us learn the phrases below as a basic greeting in English classes in schools.

A: How are you?
B: I'm fine, thank you, And you?
A: Me, too.
(Shake hands)

By the way, the president of Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is Yoshiro Mori. He is said to still have an infulence on the Abe government.
In our office, we sometimes talk about the person who masterminded behind the scenes to hide the exact number of the infected people to the public before the Olympic was determined to be extended for a while. Our answers are all coincident that it must be Mori. Mori was an ex-Prime Minister of Japan in 2000 and has many legends. A legend popped into my mind when I was watching him on TV. Today I'd like to share one of them with you.
While Mori was the PM, the US president was Bill Clinton. When Clinton visited Japan, Mori's secrestary prepared an interpretor, but Mori got angry and said "I can speak English! I don't need an interpretor." Then, he greeted Clinton like below based on the basic greeting in the opening sentences.

Mori: Who are you?
Clinton: Oh! Ugh..I'm Hillary's husband.
Mori: Me, too.
(Shake hands)

Hillary was already famous in Japan at that time, so Bill Clinton answered by using his wit for Mori but it ended in vain.
Mori is 83 years old now.
Please stay home. Don't come out of your house even one step.

ある伝説

我々のほとんど全てが下記のフレーズを基本の挨拶として学校の英語の授業で習います。

A: お元気ですか?
B: 元気です。ありがとう。あなたは？
A: 私も(同じです）
(握手)

ところで、東京オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会組織委員会の会長は森喜朗です。彼は今でも安倍政権に影響力があると言われています。オリンピックがしばらく延長になると決まる前に、正確な感染者数を隠した人物について、我々は会社でたまに話すことがあります。我々の答えは「絶対、森」で全員一致です。森は2000年の元首相です。彼は多くの伝説を持っています。テレビで森を見ていたら、一つふと思い出したので、今日、皆さんにある伝説をシェアしたいと思います。
森が首相をやっていた時のアメリカの大統領はビル・クリントンでした。
クリントンが訪日の際、森の秘書は通訳を用意してましたが、森は怒って「英語ぐらいできる！通訳なんかいらない！」と言いました。そして、冒頭文で述べた基本文を基に、クリントンにこのように挨拶しました。

森: どちら様ですか?
クリントン: おぅ！あ～、私はヒラリーの夫です。
森: 私も(同じです)
(握手)

当時、ヒラリーは日本で既に有名だったので、クリントンは森のために機転を利かして答えたのですが、ムダに終わりました。

森は今83歳です。
家に居てください。一歩足りとも外に出てこないでください。
