I've been reading a book called "The Psychology of Money" recently.
At the beginning of the book, the author tells a story about a technology executive who carried a stack of hundred-dollar bills several inches thick. He showed it to everyone who wanted to see it and many who didn't.
In my eyes, that's really a show-off thing, even childish and irrational.
A few minutes after closing the book, I suddenly remembered an irrational thing I'd done.
It was five years ago. I bought a Louis Vuitton Neverfull when I traveled in Paris.
Five years later, I've used this bag less than five times. I can't use it on weekdays, because I prefer a bag with broad straps to carry my laptop; I don't like it on weekends, because it's not that casual.
I mean it's a good bag, but not for me.
Every time I saw it, I reminded myself, "There are many nice things in the world, but only a few matter to me."

An for vowels, A for consonants. No exceptions.

“Traveled ‘in’ Paris” would mean you were traveling around within the Paris metropolitan area (maybe you were already living in Paris at the time, and decided to tour the city). “To” is more natural since you presumably went from somewhere else “to” Paris.
Five years later, I've used this bag less than five times.
I can't use it on weekdays, because I prefer a bag with broad shoulder straps to carry my laptop more comfortably; I don't like it on weekends, because it's not that casual.
When I first read “broad straps to carry my laptop, I pictured straps to attach the laptop to the outside of the bag (the straps hold/carry the laptop), but I assume you actually mean broad shoulder straps to better distribute the weight of your laptop, which you place inside the bag.
I mean it's a good bag, but not for me.
Every time I sawee it, I reminded myself, "There are many nice things in the world, but only a few matter to me."
Use present tense since the preceding sentences are in present tense and you presumably still have (and occasionally see) the bag.

Well done.

An is used before words that begin with a vowel (an egg , an expensive suit)
A is used before words that begin with a consonant (a cow , a wide road)
