A contracted sound, "youon"

A contracted sound

拗音

Youon (a palatalised sound) is created with a combination of two characters, such as "kya", "kyu" and "kyo".

It is a rule that the letters behind are small letters called the ya column of "ya", "yu", and "yo".

Nowadays, it is only recognized in dialects, but there is also the ya column of "kwa" and "gwa".

It has two letters but the sound is one syllable (one clap).

The ya column follow the end of the letters that called "Inodan". The "Inodan" is as follows:
"ki", "gi", "shi", "ji", "chi", "ni", "hi", "bi", "pi", "mi" and "ri".

The ya column has 11 letters in total.
