A Clash of Kings

I'm currently reading "A Clash of Kings", the second book in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The story is so intense that I want to quit my job so I can read it at home all day. I am at the last part of the book. I searched online and found out the series was planned to have seven volumes, but only five volumes have been published. And the last published one was 13 years ago, so I will probably have to wait forever... Nevertheless, good things are worth the wait. I still have a long way to go to finish the series. After that, maybe I will challeng myself by reading the series in its original English. I also know Martin has written other side stories for the series, so there are so many things to look forward to.

This title is clearer.

Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

The story is so intenseengrossing that I want to quit my job so I can read it at home all day.

COMMENT: Perhaps "engrossing" (引人入胜的) is a better word choice than "intense."

I am atALSO POSSIBLE: I have reached the last part of the book.

ALSO POSSIBLE: I searched online and found out the series was planned to have seven volumes, butoriginally seven volumes were planned, though only five volumes have been published so far.

AndLSO POSSIBLE: Since the last volume published one was 13 years ago, so I will probably have to wait forever...probably no sequels will come.

IDEA: Since a lot of money would come out if more volumes were published, perhaps more volume will someday appear. (The temptation to make more money is great.)

Nevertheless, good things are often worth the wait.

I still have a long way to go to finish the entire series.

After that, maybe I will challenge myself by reading the series in its original English.

Your sentence was correct, but the word "volume" sound very formal. When my friends and I talked about Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, or other popular series, we'd always say things like "I'm reading the 5th book" or "I just finished book 6". I also think "published" also sounds a little strange compared to saying "only five books have come out" or "only five books have been released".

And the last published one was 13 years ago, so I will probably have to wait forever...

We all feel this way :)

Nevertheless, good things are worth the wait.

I still have a long way to go to finish the series.

After that, maybe I will challenge myself by reading the series in its original English.

I also know Martin has written other side stories for the series, so there are so many other things to look forward to.

To me, my edits sound a little more natural in English (American), but I had no problem understanding the sentence.
