Stack Exchange Question - Heating a Growing Box
Hello, I'm about to post a question to stack exchange. I thought that I could have it corrected first.
I deleted equations and most of the formatting to make it more readable. So here it is.
Hi! I'm trying to design a growing box that will keep stable temperature for germination of seeds.
I'm planning to use an Arduino with a temperature sensor to control a heating element. I'm thinking of using a resistance wire as the heating element, as it is a simple and cheap solution.
Let's say the size of the box will be 1 m^3. I'm not sure what the isolation of the box will be, but I'm considering either plastic box, or an old refrigerator.
Target temperature is 30°C (86°F).
I need to choose the right heating element, and determine what power supply to use for that heating element.
I've already done some calculations for reaching this goal.
### Power needed to heat up the box
First of all, I need to determine how much power is required to heat up the box to target temperature.
Let's assume that the house temperature is 20°C and I want to heat it up to 30°C in 30 minutes.
I used an equation from https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/heat-up-energy-d_1055.html for determining the energy required to heat up a substance.
m = 1.2 kg (the mass of 1 m<sup>3</sup> of air)
c_p = 1.006 kJ/(kg°C) (specific heat of the substance)
dT = 10°C (required change of temperature [30° - 20° = 10°])
t = 1800 s (heat up time)

So the required power to heat up the box to target temperature in 30 minutes is 6.7 watts.
It is the first time I calculated something like this. Tell me if I made a mistake. Does this mean that I need a heating element consuming 6.7 watts?

### Calculating required voltage to power the heating element
I have three resistance wires. Each one of them is a meter long. It is specified that they have the following resistances: 5.4 ohm/m, 20 ohm/m, and 55.4 ohm/m.
Assuming that I need 6.7 watts to heat up the box, and that I choose the 5.4 ohm/m wire, I can calculate the required voltage from the formula:

Therefore, the required voltage using this wire would be 6 V, which I can achieve with 4 AA alkaline batteries in series.
### Conlusion
I am a beginner in electronics, so I need a bit of help. Am I on the right track, or is it complete nonsense what I wrote above?
What would you recommend me as a power supply for this task?
From what I know, the lesser the resistance, the greater the power. But is it okay to use that small resistance in a circuit?

Kinder oder Beruf!
Zahlreiche Menschen wählen ihre Berufe aus, wenn sie zwischen Kindern und Karrieren auswählen müssen. Sie finden, dass sie mit einem Job Geld verdienen Können. Wenn man aber ein Kind hat, ist es schwierig, sich auf den Job zu konzentrieren.

J'ai eu le cours du français ce matin. Il était très bien. La prof est gentille, et leur français est comme le français d'une native. Nous avons fait un petit tâche de la future école! J'ai essayé de parler beaucoup dans ce cours. Évidemment j'ai fait beaucoup des erreurs mais je trouve ça mieux que ne pas parler du tout. La prof nous a raconté que nous lirons une romane dans le troisième trimestre. A débuté ça m'a fait peur un peu, mais a la fin du cours j'ai réalisé que les autres élèves vont avoir des problème même comme moi. Les élèves dans les cours sont approximativées la même niveau. J'ai aussi eu le cours du mathématiques et du sport. On a joggé dans le cours du sport. Ça m'a fait plaisir.

Freundschaft
Ich habe nie zuvor diesen Ausdruck gehört: eine Freundschaft zu pflegen. Sagt man nur in Deutschland so? Es klingt nach einer richtigen aufopfernden Fürsorge, wenn man etwas gutes für einen anderen Mensch macht, damit eine gute Verbindung pflegen. Ehrlich zu sagen, bin ich schlechte Freundenschaftenpflegerin. In der Zeit von Sozialnetzwerken, es ist möglich mit den Freunden, die weit entfernt leben, im Kontakt zu bleiben. Aber als ich in eine neue Stadt gezogen bin, habe ich im Laufe der Zeit alle Kontakten verloren und natürlich schäme ich mich darüber.

Kwiat umarł. Długo za nim płakałem, choć dobrze wiedziałem, że było nieuniknione. Zresztą jak kwiat ma rosnąć, gdy otoczony przez lód? Ten kwiat był anomalią i dlatego był dla mnie tak bezcenny; tutaj kwiatów nie ma. Mówią, że nadzieja nigdy nie umiera, ale moja nadzieja nie wystarczyła. Ten kwiat nie miał żadnych szans do życia. A teraz tylko chłodna i pusta ziemia zostaje.
Od wtedy żaden kwiat już nie rosnął tam, w tym malutkim kawałku gruntu otoczonym przez lód. Chyba tak musi być. Zimny wiatr wieje mocno, gdy patrzę na morze i zanurzam się w pamięci kwiatu. Bardzo lubię głośny dźwięk fal, które gwałtownie uderzają o brzeg, bo w tym dźwięku topi mój płacz, dopóki nie mam już łez. A teraz serce jest lżejsze i nie będę bał się już, że ta jedyna rzecz na świecie, której dałem całą moją miłość, umrze.

Lieber Peter,
gestern habe ich unseren Freund Carsten im Krankenhaus besucht. Es geht ihm ehrlich gesagt nicht so gut, weil er sich bei einem Skifahren Unfall sein rechte Bein gebrochen hat. Ihm ist jeden Tag langweilig und ich denke, dass er regelmäßig schlechte Laune hat. Report on improvement that could be made in our city
Introduction
The objective of the following report is to outline the features of the city that our citizens like most and describe some recommendations that could improve dwellers daily life.
The positive aspects of the city
To start off it has to be said that our city is quite small. Yet, there is not a huge number of features that we could refer to. One of the best aspects of the city is the services we have such as the roads, the parks and so on.
Dwellers of our city usually spend the most part of their free time in the center of the city, when we could find coffee bars, shops, parks for children, etc.
Aspects that our city need
The following recommendations should be taken into consideration in order to make citizens life easier.
On one hand, beyond those positive aspects I have mentioned there is lack of some services. For instance, the existence of a shopping center or a cinema it would make the city a better site to stay as well as it would be more visited by tourists.
In the other hand, the number of cars in our city is greater and greater and creating more parking facilities would make dwellers life better.
Conclusion
In light of the above, all the recommendations made should be taken in consideration and implemented as soon as possible.

The Great Gatsby
I bought the novel "The Great Gatsby" several years ago, in which some difficult phrases are removed or replaced with simple ones for English learners.
Though I've tried to finish reading over and over again, I've only read one quarter.
Last month, I found the receipt between pages on which the date " April 13th, 2012" was printed. It means that I bought this book soon after starting my college days.
I haven't figured out what the story talk about and whether I will be interested in or not.
If you had read this novel, let me know your impression. Even if not, could you recommend some books?

Am Montag mache ich die B1 Prüfung. Daher will ich mein Schreiben üben. Die Schreibenprüfung besteht auf drei Teile, deshalb mache ich drei verschiedene Beiträgen (dieser ist der Dritte). Sie haben im Fernsehen eine Dokumentarsendung zum Thema "Gewalt im Fernsehen" gesehen. Im Online-Gästebuch der Sendung lesen Sie folgenden Kommentar:
"Diese Dokumentation war wichtig, da die Gewalt in Fernshsendungen immer mehr zunimmt. Nichts gegen Krimis - aber muss alles so deutlich und hart gezeigt werden? Das hat sicher einen schlechten Einfluss auf die Zuschauer. Also, was tun?"
Versuch:
Ich glaube auch, dass die Gewalt in Sendungen immer mehr zunimmt. Ich fürchte, dass sie uns immer weniger stört. Deshlab müssen die Fernsender mehr Gewalt, zeigen, um mehr Zuschauer anzulocken. Das bring tmich über unsere Kinder Sorgen zu mahcen. Wenn die aktuelle Ebene Gewalt sie nicht stören, wie werden Sendungen nach 10 Jahre aussehen? Wenn wir unsere Kinder schützen und solche Sendungen vermeiden, wird die Nachfrage für Gewalt abnehmen. Hoffentlich bemerken die Fernsender das Zeichnen.

Ich habe ihn gestern angerufen und er hat mir erzählt, dass er im Krankenhaus zwei Wochen bleiben muss, nachdem er sein Bein gebrochen hat. Deswegen ist er deprimiert und es ist ihm langweilig. Ich glaube, dass er Begleitung und spaß braucht. Also wollte ich dir fragen: willst du ihn am Freitag mit mir besuchen? Wir können ihm selbstgekochtes Essen und einige Spiele mitbrigen, um ihn zu ermütigen. Was glaubst du daran? Wenn du frei bist, ruf mich an, damit wir die Einzelheiten besprechen können.

Conserver de la sauce de tomates
Chaque année, je plante des tomates dans mon jardin. La tomate est une culture qui demande peu de soin et qui n'est pas facilement détruite par les limaces. En plus, on peut utiliser les tomates dans beaucoup de plats et on peut les conserver sous forme de sauce.
Pour faire la sauce, j'attends jusqu'à une certaine quantité de tomates soit mûre ou blette. Je trouve les tomates blettes écœurantes dans une salade, mais elles donnent beaucoup d’arôme à la sauce. Il ne vaut pas la peine de conserver une petite quantité, au moins une grande coupe doit être pleine. Je lave les tomates et je les coupe en grandes pièces.
En parallèle, je prépare des verres avec couvercle fileté. On peut en fait recycler des emballages de légumes conservés du supermarché. De nos jours, les couvercles ont un petit joint d'étanchéité à l'intérieur. Si ce joint n'est pas abîmé, on peut utiliser le verre et le couvercle. Bien sûr, tout doit être bien propre.
Quand tout est préparé, je place deux grandes casseroles sur le feu. Dans l'une casserole, je bous les tomates avec du sel et peut-être de l'origan et du basilic, et je les mets en purée avec un simple mixeur. Les tomates écument au bouillir, il est donc nécessaire d'éviter d'avoir trop de sauce dans la casserole. Dans la deuxième casserole, je bous les verres et les couvercles.
Quand tout est bien chaud, je verse la sauce dans les verres et je les ferme immédiatement avec les couvercles, avec assez de force. Il doit rester une petite distance d'environ un centimètre entre la sauce et le bord du verre. Au refroidir, les verres dépressurisent et se ferment hermétiquement. Après ça la sauce ne gâte pas.
Je sais que c'est un peu de boulot mais le résultat est persuasif. Le goût est bien supérieur aux produits haut-de-gamme vendus dans les supermarchés pour les clients solvables. Jusqu'ici, je n'ai eu ni un seul verre qui a perdu le vacuum.
Quand j'étais un petit enfant, ma grand-mère conservait beaucoup de légumes et fruits : concombres, haricots, fraises, cerises, etc. En allemand, on appelait ça « einkochen ». De nos jours, en ne trouve plus ce mot dans les dictionnaires parce que personne ne le fait plus. Mais pour les tomates, je garde la tradition.

Mein Wochenende
Das Wochenende war ein bisschen schlimm. Es hatte jedoch gut gefängen. Ich habe etwas Brot gekocht und habe Zeit draußen in meinem Hinterhof verbracht. Dann leider habe ich mir eine Grippe eingefangen und jetzt bin ich immer noch erkältet. Ich habe Kopfschmerz und Muskelschmerz, und ich kann fast nichts duften. Ich weiß nicht woher ich es eingefangen haben. Ich hoffe, dass es kein Coronavirus ist. Zum Glück, scheint es wie die Krankenheit fast vorbei ist. Diese Woche planne ich nicht viel zu machen. Ich bleibe zu Hause und Harry Potter schauen. Hoffentlich, werde ich mich nächste Woche besser fühlen.

La verdad es que tengo mucho que contaros pero esta noche no tengo suficiente tiempo para escribirlo todo. En lugar de eso, voy a escribir sobre mi día.
Esta mañana hice yoga. He intentado empezar el hábito de practicarlo cada mañana porque me gusta hacer yoga y creo que el acto de incorporar un poco de actividad física en mi día me va a motivar a hacer otros tipos de ejercicio (correr, por ejemplo).
En la tarde, fui a la oficina de correos para mandar un paquete a mi hermana (su cumpleaños es el viernes). Junto con su regalo, la envió una carta y un juego de sudoku. Decoré el sobre con fotos de perros con sombreros de cumpleaños.
Después, fui a la tienda de repuestos para devolver una cosa que ya no necesito. Me sorprendió que la aceptaron porque la compré hace un año, pero justo después de comprarla mi coche volvió a funcionar por su cuenta. Estaba demasiado nerviosa para devolverla a tienda tan pronto y luego me la olvidé por completo. Me alegra que por fin no la tendré en casa.

Was ich heute gemacht habe
Heute bin ich zu einer Druckerei gegangen und habe meine Seminararbeit für die Uni abgeholt. Sie sieht sehr schön aus. Ich bin stolz auf meine akademisch Erfolge.
Danach habe ich eine lecker Lasagne gegessen, weil die eins mein Lieblingsessen ist. Dann habe ich einen Film ausgewählt und sehe er während ich habe viele Popcorn gegessen.
Zurzeit bin ich sehr müde, weil gestern Nacht ich nicht so viel geschlafen habe. Ich glaube, dass gleich ins Bett werde gehen.

今日は英語のクラスがありました。このクラスで、精密で、簡潔で、上手な書き方を練習しています。特に適当の言葉を選択するの練習です。この方法に書くのは厳しくて難しいですが、もっと上手になるは楽しいです。でも悲しいとこがあります。私は思わず、英語の強さと日本語の弱さを比べます。私は英語から日本語に変更すれば、文章は足りない気持ちが圧倒的です。日本語でたくさんの言葉が知りません。私の文法は相当な不正解です。英語のレベルを届くのは無理と思うので、落ち込みます。満足なレベルを達するがどれくらい年間を必要とかずっと考えています。私は初心者が分かりますが、ただこれについて落ち込んでやすいです。この気持ちがありますが、日本語の練習を一生懸命頑張ります。

culture influence the way we see
In San Francisco, there have many style buildings. The Temple in Chinatown, some of the Victoria-style single house in Ingleside, the many new styles house in Sunset. For those buildings, we could see a cultural diffusion at different times. Chinatown's temple reflects Chinese religious beliefs. Chinatown's building type also reflects the historical event at that time. The most of buildings in Chinatown are rather camped and the streets are narrow. In my view, it like 19 century Hongkong. People don't have much space to live in. So they built the houses as possible as small to rent many people to live. Additionally, the early Chinese immigrants of San Franciso, many of them are from South China, especially HongKong. Their coming is not just a religious belief spreading. And they export their idea, character, nature throughout the building in Chinatown.
For the Victoria- style single house, we could know the style of Victory-style from British. When British immigrants land in American Land. Their building style was changed. they were not focused on the designing interior structure, which will be looks plush. For instead, they more focus on the exterior of the house color matching. Those changes we could feel the cultural diffusion from British immigrants.

the environmental determinism VS. possibility
The first difference between the environmental determinism and possibilism is to build by a different time.
But in my opinion, both the theory I agree.
The idea of environmental determinism was created before the growing global travel. Before the beginning of globalism, people have to depend on their local natural resources to move on. In other words, people don't much opportunity to change their situation and gain a better life before globalism. The quality of local resource will depress the society development. For the Caribbean, it doesn't have many fertile to develop their agriculture. So in the early generation, people have to fish to support their survival.
For environmental possibilism, the Caribbean's pirates are a very good example to explain. When fishing can not support the Caribbean's people live and living under the fear of other countries' aggression, many Caribbean people forcibly became pirates. I think that is the best example to show how people have the ability to adjust to their environment for a better life :D

Japan VS. China in Qing dynasty.
In my opinion, Japan and China clearly reflect the idea and difference between cultural development and determinism.
I think geography will directly influence the oriented of a country, future, and development. Even then Japan gained a big success and revolution in the last century, they had a big cost. In my view, the Meiji Reform was the only way to arm the country and against West-force's aggression for the emperor of Japan during that period. To relate this chapter, we could view the Meiji reform as progress as cultural development.
By the way, I think the cultural development is on par with environmental determinism. In my thinking, environmental determinism could take a big role in countries' futures. For example, compared with geography between China and Japan, China has more opposite to develop by itself. But Japan has not. Japan is just a big island. It does not have much agrarian field. When confronting Western aggression, China can just close its door that China benefits from its geography. But Japan can no do that. Japan have weakness by its geography. If the army wants to aggress, that will be easy. That is why I think environmental determinism as the same as significant to consider a bigger picture and look back on history.

La Beauté, c’est quoi.
Même si l’on a pas la chance pour voyager au pays innconu ou voir une statue si belle, y a une chose qui l’on a tout éprouvé. Ceci, je s’appelle la beauté ordinarie. Rien spécial, ni extraordinarie ni incroyable. Mais, c’est une chose si importante. Figurez vous ceci, y a une fille. Elle n’est pas tres belle ou tres intelligente – une fille c’est ca. Elle vit come tout le monde, elle est une ordinarie. Mais ca ne veut dire pas qu’elle n’importe. Au contraire, dans son coeur elle ressent le monde en une manière absolutement unique. C’est a dire que je pourrais pas remplacer elle. Je la connais au-dela des faits. Pareil truc, ma maison n’est pas une maison parfaite. Les arbres autour de moi, les rues qui j’entrevois par la fenêtres, et tous ces petites choses n’est parfaits – pas du tout. Mais toujours je puis connaître et reconnaître que la vie est un cadeau, que je ne suis pas digne de ma fille, que je pourrais voir au-dela. Cela-ci est une manière dont on éprouvé la beauté de vie.
