TOEFL Writing| Honorable Person in Your Country

Topic:
Your city has decided to build a statue or monument to honor a famous person in your country. Whom would you choose? Use reasons and specific examples to support your choice.

My essay:
In my opinion, if my city planned to build a statue to honor a famous person, I would vote to the prestigious philosopher and educationist Confucius. The reasons for the decision are as follows.

First of all, I choose to honor Confucius because of the enduring relevance of his theory, Confucianism. Confucianism, found by Confucius about 2500 years ago, mainly talk about virtues, morality and social harmony. His theory, which is beneficial for both the Emperor and the country, had become the principle to manage the country since Han Dynasty. Moreover, his philosophy of "ren", means kindness, plays a significant role in self-developing and communication even in today's Chinese lives.

Second reason why I am eager to honor Confucius is his commitment to education. As a successful educationist, Confucius cultivated seventy-two students, most of whom also became well-known philosophers or politician. In addition, his emphasis on education and unconventional ideas about education methods became the cornerstone of Chinese education. For instance, his quote "Teach students in accordance of their aptitude" that focus on students' profiles, helps develop students' potential. This idea, with his thorough theory, had constant influence on following education thinking.

Finally, I want my city to choose Confucius to honor because of global impact of his theory. Confucius' teachings have been studied and admired not only in China, but also in other parts of Asia, such as Korea, Japan and Vietnam. His thinking of personal integrity and social responsibility has resonated with people around the world, and his ideas have been embraced by many non-Chinese philosophers and thinkers.

In conclusion, I am glad to choose Confucius as the one to be memorized. Considering his influent philosophy, pioneering education thinking and the global influence, it's our duty to honor him by making a statue or monument.

Regarder Lupin pour mon français

J'apprends français depuis un an. Quand j'ai commencé, j'ai regardé Lupin pour améliorer mon pouvoir de comprendre l'orale. Dernièrement, je l'ai commencé à regarder encore une fois ! C'est plein d'action et c'est amusant. J'aime beaucoup personellement les noirs, et voir un protagoniste noir était agréable pour moi. La musique et les sons dans les épisodes sont très bonnes aussi. Ça a été devenu mon habitude: Chaque samedi et dimanche matin, je regarde un autre épisode de Lupin. Je le regarde avec un extension Chrome que j'ai trouvé, "Language Reactor". Cet extension me permet a comprendre que veut dire un mot sans quitter Netflix, écrire le mot dans un dictionnaire etc... Je ne clique que sur le mot et le sens est là. D'après moi cet habitude est très bien pour mon français.

December diary entry 1

प्रिय दैनिकी,

सुप्रभात ।

मैं आज सुबह लगभग चार बजे उठी । मैं इस को लेकर ख़ुश हूँ । मुझे आज दिन भार बहुत काम करना पड़ेगा । दो हफ़्ते से ज़्यादा कम, मुझे अपनी परीक्षा देनी पड़ेगी । यह एक बड़ी परीक्षा है । भारतीय आधुनिक इतिहास एक सरल मामला नहीं है । वैसे भी मुझे परीक्षा में अच्छा अंक/ नंबर चाहिए ।

कुछ दिनों परीक्षा के बाद क्रिसमस होगी ।मैंने अभी तक क्रिसमस छुट्टियों के लिए कोई योजना नहीं बनायी है । लेकिन मुझे उम्मीद है कि इस साल मैं कम से कम एक बार क्रिसमस मार्केट जा सकूँ । क्रिसमस के दौरान मैंने कुछ भी मजेदार किए हुए काफी समय बीत चुका है । तीन साल ! मुझे अब तक समझ नहीं आता कि यहाँ आख़िरी परीक्षाएँ क्रिसमस से पहले क्यों होती हैं और जनवरी के अंत में नहीं ।

इस साल मेरे पास भाग्य से क्रिसमस और नववर्ष के बीच कोई निबंद की नियत तिथि नहीं है । ख़ैर, क्रिसमस और नववर्ष के बीच मुझे अपने प्रबन्ध पर भी काम करना पड़ेगा । मैं अपना प्रबन्ध मध्य मार्च में ख़त्म करना चाहती हूँ ।

आज के लिए मैंने गांधी जी के पाठ की
दोहराने की योजना बनायी है । अभी मेरे नोट इस पाठ पर अच्छे नहीं हैं । यह ठीक करने का समय आ चुका है ।

Le coût de la sédantarité

Tout le monde sait que l’exercice est très important à garder la santé et à maintenir la mobilité et la souplesse de corps. Néanmoins, beaucoup de gens sont très sédentaires et ne font pas que la moindre d’exercice. Selon l’Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), « 81% des adolescents et 27% des adultes n’atteignent pas les niveaux d’activité physique recommandés », et le résultat est un coût annuel d’environ 27,4 milliards de dollars et une population en mauvaise santé. La sédentarité est liée à des maladies comme dépression, la démence, et l’hypertension, parmi des autres. Mais dans ce monde où beaucoup de gens passent la plupart du jour à un bureau pour le travail ou les études, comment est-ce qu’on peut devenir moins sédentaire?

Heureusement, il y a beaucoup de choses qu’on peut faire pour ajouter un petit peu plus de mouvement dans le jour. On peut se lever au moins un fois par heure pour se détendre les jambes. On peut aussi choisir des passe-temps moins sédentaires. Si on aime regarder le télé après le boulot, on peut se promener à place de regarder sa série préférée. Il y a aussi des équipements d’exercice qu’on peut utiliser au même temps qu’on travaille. Par exemple, j’ai une petite bicyclette au dessus de mon bureau que je peux utiliser n’importe quand. J’avais vu aussi des tapis de course légers et compacts qu’on peut utiliser avec un bureau debout. Même s’il est difficile à trouver de temps pour l’exercise. on peut faire des petites choses pour la santé.

行楽旅行が私にとって魅力を失った理由

私は観光をするのはそんなに好きじゃないと思います。子供の頃家族と一緒にいろんなところに行ったことがありますが、今は似たような旅をしたくない気がします。子供の時した旅が楽しくなかったというわけではないですが、ただそのころ経験したことを思い出してみると、少し考えが浅い行動と見えます。もちろん家族と一緒に出来た思い出が大切にしていますが、今の私には観光地をただ見たり、写真を撮ったり、食べ物を食べたりすることだけはそんなに魅力的ではないです。本当はどうしてそうなるのかはよく分かりませんが、多分そうするだけで学べることが少ないからと思います。私は言語を学ぶのが好きで、文化について学ぶにも興味があります。でも、そう思う時、一つの文化や言語について学ぶと決めたら、ちゃんとその言語を話せるようになりたい、その文化についてちゃんと学びたいという気持ちになりますので、観光のための旅をするは浅い知識しか得られない悪い学び方として見えてしまいます。

都会と田舎の比較

都会と田舎は、どちらもいい点と悪い点があると思う。

都会は、いろいろな人々や文化などあるため、田舎よりもっとさまざまな経験を得ることができる。私の住んでいる州の首都が「メルボルン(Melbourne)」と呼ばれ、メルボルンの多様な郊外が別々の文化を宿す。例えば、「カルトン(Carlton)」で多いイタリアレストランがあり、「フトスクレイ(Footscray)」で多いベトナムレストランがある。しかも、都心である「文化街」でオペラやバレーやオーケストラといった上演を見ることができる。悪い点は、都会はうるさくて忙しいだから、嫌な気分させるかもしれない。

それに対し、田舎の方が静かであり、忙しくない。ゆっくり生き、のんびりするような生活は可能だ。しかし、田舎の人数はより低く、住民はより狭量であるかもしれない。

Histoire de la Fatigue

J'ai ecouté un interview avec Georges Vigarello. Il a ecrit un livre qui s'appele "Histoire de la Fatigue". Dans ce livre, il decrit le développement de la fatigue dans les dernières siècles. Selon lui, la fatigue a grossi à cause de la vie moderne. Il y a plus d'informations que avant l'internet. Aujourd'hui, nous avons plus des decisions que jamais. Mais prendre une décision est difficile et nous avons trop des trajets. Je pense souvent à ma future et j'ai beaucoup des amis qui ne peuvent pas décider leur discipline universitaire et qui aussi se sentent un peu perdu. En même temps, c'est un privilège. Je détéste prendre des décisions, mais du moins je peux décider. J'ai des parents qui sont tres suppotives et je vais changer les ètudes de l'économie au droit en avril. Je veux travailler avec des textes et je ne veux pas travailler seulement pour ma salaire, mais aussi pour mes valeurs. Je pourrai faire cet avec le droit, par exemple je pourrai devenir un avocat pour les employées.

Ich bin bestraft worden

Das ist echt dumm...

Gestern bin ich zu einer WG gefahren, um ein Zimmer zu sehen und mit einem der Mitbewohner zu sprechen, obwohl es sehr weit von dem Zentrum Berlins entfernt liegt. Ich würde lieber in solchem Ort nicht leben, aber ich kann nicht sehr wählerisch sein.

Obgleich ich ein europäischer Bürger bin und dementsprechend kein Problem mit Aufenthalterlaubnis habe, habe ich jetzt keine Arbeit und beziehungsweise keinen Beweis von meinen letzten drei Gehalten. Das kann zum Hindernis werden, auch wenn ich mein heutiges Leben hier finanzieren kann. Deswegen kann ich mir nicht leisten, ein Bezirk auszuwählen.

Trotz aller diesen Gründen, war die WG wirklich weit entfernt. Ab Januar werde ich einen Kurs besuchen und ich bräuchte zumindest 70 Minute jeden Tag dahin. Na ja, zumindest habe ich das Zimmer gesehen - habe ich gedacht.

Ich musste den Zug zurück in Bahnhof Schulzendorf einsteigen, was noch Gegend B ist. Ich habe übrigens ein Abo, die mir erlaubt, in Gegende A und B zu fahren. Ich wollte ins Zentrum zurückfahren, aber dann ist ein Zug nach Hennigsdorf gekommen und der Zug zurück würde nur in 10 Minuten kommen.

Dann habe ich gedacht, dass ich bis Hennigsdorf fahren könnte und dann zurück. Das ist nur zwei Bahnhöfe entfernt von Schulzendorf. Ich habe jedoch vergessen, dass Hennigsdorf Gegend C ist. Dann sind zwei Angestellten zu mir gekommen, ausgerechnet kurz vor dem Ankommen in Hennigsdorf. Sie haben mich gefragt, ob ich ein Anschlussticket hatte, was ich natürlich nicht hatte. Ich wusste es nicht, bzw. war total unbewusst dessen, dass nur diese letzte Bahnhof auf dieser Linie Gegend C war.

Das Schlimmste ist, dass ich gar nicht dahin fahren musste. Ich wollte nur im Zug warten, weil es draußen kalt war und hat mir überhaupt keinen Gedanken darüber gemacht. Jetzt bin ich 60 Euro ärmer...

Hace dos días fue un día especial para mí. Fue el aniversario de mi empleo con Coder. Otro dato - es lo máximo que he durado en un trabajo. 2 años. Por algunas razones, tuve tres trabajos en compañias diferentes antes de Coder.

Reopen

The bookstore in the station building has reopened.
There was a section with several shops such as restaurants and daily goods stores, which were closed for about half a year for renovation.
After they reopened, the shops changed and the location was moved.
The location of the bookstore has changed, and the sales floor area has shrunk to about a third.
There was a magazine I wanted, so I looked for it, but it wasn't there.
The magazine used to be for sale, but they may have stopped putting it there because the sales floor space has become smaller.
It was sad.

Comment j'ai commencé à aimer le français

Je n'ai jamais aimé la façon dont sonnait le français.
Je ne comprenais pas pourquoi tant de gens pensaient que le français était une belle langue d'amour.
Mais ensuite, j'ai décidé de visiter Paris avec ma petite amie.
J'ai pensé apprendre le français pour faire une expérience.
Deux jours à écouter des vidéos en français et j'étais amoureux de cette langue.
Mais ce n'était pas très facile, à cause de la prononciation étrange.
Au début, j'ai utilisé Duolingo et Anki, mais c'était plus un divertissement qu'un apprentissage sérieux.
Puis j'ai décidé de mémoriser mille mots français les plus courants en dix jours.
Je l'ai fait, même si c'était extrêmement difficile.
J'ai été surpris de pouvoir enfin comprendre certaines des nouvelles françaises.
De toute façon, en ce moment, j'essaie de parler en français, mais ce n'est pas une tâche facile.

一人であることの怖さ

私が本当に一番怖いことは何かわからないが、一人であることかもしれない。

人間という動物は根から社会的な生き物であるものだ。つまり、生きるためには、他人に愛されることが重要だけであるというより、必要だ。それは心理的な原因だからと思う。昔は、世の中で生き延びることに、人間は集団で生きる。食事を摘むことや、敵から守ることや、病気になるときに治すことなどは集団で一人よりしやすいだ。そのため、人間の脳では「一人である」という概念が怖くなってきた。

現代に生きている私にとって、「一人であること」が恐ろしい理由は食事や病気などに関係ない。怖い理由は、多分心理的であるだけかもしれない。それでも、他人が私を愛しなく、私についてあまり考えなく、私が亡くすとしたらあまり気にしないという発想は、本当に怖いだ。

Les robots

De nos jours, les robots sont partout. En effet, ils nous entourent : au début, ils n’étaient que dans des hôpitaux et des usines mais peu à peu ils ont devenu omniprésents. On les trouve dans des banques, au travail dans des entreprises, même chez nous. Ce dont je me souviens, ce sont des robots que j’ai vus dans un film de science-fiction. Dans cette histoire les robots ont conquis le monde et emprisonné tous les humains. C’était horrible !

J’admets que j’en ai peur. Alors, mettant mon cauchemar de côté, les robots peuvent nous rendre service, dans des hôpitaux, dans des écoles et dans la communauté. J’ai lu un article dont on parle de diverses sortes de robots. Apparement, la compagnie franco-japonaise, qui s’appelle SoftBank Robotics a créé plusieurs types de robots. Le premier, c’est le robot Pepper qui est utilisé dans certains banques pour aider et pour divertir les clients. Le deuxième, Roméo est un robot humanoïde qui ressemble à la humain. Il a un tête, un corps et deux bras. La fonction de Roméo est d’aider les personnes plus âgées et handicapées. Le troisième robot de cette entreprise s’appelle Nao. Et Nao est utilisé pour l’éducation. Nao travaille avec les enfants autistes et il leur encourage à s’exprimer. Il faut mentionner que tous ces robots ne sont pas donnés et coûtent au moins de 1500 € plus un abonnement chaque mois.

Bien qu’il y ait certains avantages d’avoir un robot, il faut que je mentionne aussi des inconvénients. À mes yeux, l’inconvénient le plus grand, le plus dangereux sont ceux qui sont utilisés dans les guerres : les armes autonomes comme les drones. Sur ce sujet, il y a beaucoup d’associations scientifiques qui veulent que ces robots soient interdits parce qu’ils représentent une menace. On verra ce qui se passera.

My new friend

It’s a little crazy, but I do believe that friendship would occur in some place that you cannot believe. And people are really different when you stay with them and when you hear them from others.

My new friend has a easy remember name, and he is experienced(I would love to describe that he is as old as my uncle, how to write it in English polite? Thanks for your help). In some ways I could see some similarities between him and my father: popular and love to make new friends, don’t hesitate to spend money when staying with friends, has an excellent memory, also know much about how to play romantic tricks in life.

When staying with him, I feel comfortable, full of the energy to try new things and learn to think about how to treat the world more.

And the trip to the Indian street with his guide really means a lot for me. I would write it in the next article.

IELTS Writing Practice 2

I’m not sure if the last reason is suitable or even reasonable to support my view point but I can’t come up with any other idea. Please give me some advice on the essay or even refine the sentences. Thank you!

(Topic: The first car appeared on British roads in 1888. By the year 2000 there may be as many as 29 million vehicles on British roads. Alternative forms of transport should be encouraged and international laws introduced to control car ownership and use. To what extent do you agree or disagree?)

As the technical improvements in vehicles, automobiles have become more and more common in the UK. Some people may consider it an issue that needed to be monitored and controlled by the government, while others suggest that we encourage different means of transportation to lower the congestion. From my viewpoint, I agree with the legislation imposed on the cars to limit the amount of driver and develop more ways of transport to enhance the efficiency of traffic.

First of all, the rising wealth makes the vehicles become more affordable to every household, which means the number of cars are getting higher. To protect the rights and safety of the increasing drivers and pedestrians, the well-rounded laws and restrictions are needed.

Secondly, to achieve the concept and meet the main stream of the environmental protection, government should invest more in the instruction of, for example, bus stops, MRT stations, trains, etc. This policy may reduce the emission of fumes and lower the burden of traffic on the road by raising the willingness and making the transportation system more convenience for the residents and commuters.

Last but not least, the number of death and injury cases caused by car accidents remains high. This could be a reason why we should reduce or set an upper limit of cars running outside since other approaches of travelling, such as bus and trains, are relatively safer.

In conclusion, I consider the total amount of vehicles on the road should be overseen by the government to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce the car accidents. Also, more public transport should be built so as to slow down the global warming process and contribute to a way more sustainable society for our ancestors.
