本
日本人は本をたくさん読む印象がある。「あまり本を読まない」と言う人がいても、たいていその人にはお気に入りの一冊がある。イギリスでは本を読む人は読むし、読まない人は全く読まないことが多い。民族性の違いがそこに現れているようで面白い。
本と言えば、最近、貴志祐介の「新世界より」というSF大賞受賞作を読んでいる。設定は1000年後の日本。サイコキネシス（念動力）を得るに至った人類が手にした平和。その社会に生きる少年少女らが、不可解な規律やしきたりに疑問を持ち、平和のかげに隠された真実を探し求めた時、大人たちが常に恐れているものが明らかになる。人の業、ドロドロした人間関係が描かれているところが非常に印象的。次の展開が気になるので早く下巻が読みたい。

Then she knew. She couldn't deny it anymore. She had... something. She WAS something.
She was a witch. (Of all the things.)
She was a witch but there was no Hogwarts in her future. No well-intentioned Headmaster, no competent professors. She had no loving and clever aunts to guide her like Sabrina, no extravagant mother to correct her like Samantha, no mentors like Willow or any others. She was all alone. As much as she knew. No letter came on her eleventh birthday, no strange family member arrived to begin her education, no mysterious book appeared... Nothing. Worse somehow, Jason didn't have the same "something". Why her?
Of course, her nine-years-old self didn't ask herself those questions immediately. She didn't want to KNOW, so she didn't. And then she did. And then she tried some things. And then it was just a part of herself, like her hair or her nose. But she never got a "how" or "why". She just could do things that no one else could.
On her thiteenth birthday she had a prophetic dream, her room changed color and the chocolate cake became a strawberry one. Those were her favorite color, her favorite flavor and her dream told her that the boy she liked would ask her out soon. She burst in tears. It was too much. She didn't ask for that! It has to stop! Later in her (freshly colored) room she cried and cried for the ordinary life that she would never have. For the things she didn't WANT to know. For the things that she didn't want to do, and would do anyway.

やっぱり好き
最近、仕事で通訳者としてカウンセリングの会議を実施することになっている。心理学の先生が英語しか話せないので全部の会話や書類を訳している。心理学は大学で一学期くらい授業を受けたがそれはもう十年前の話（笑）心理学用語はまったく未知なので翻訳は以外と時間かかってしまう。しかし、昔から心理学に興味があってカウンセリングの会議を実施することで心理学を勉強する機会になると思った。勉強はやっぱり好きだ。少しだけ関係している話なんだけど、「漫画でわかる心理内科」という漫画がおすすめ。お腹が痛いくらい笑っちゃうと思う。
仕事は定時より上がって、ホームセンターに行って洗濯機用 ワンタッチ給水ジョイントとニップルを買った。先日、東京に引っ越す友達から洗濯機を譲ってもらったが洗濯機が大きすぎて今までの給水ジョイントがだめだった。家に帰って給水ジョイントを取り替えて夜ご飯を友達と一緒に食べる予定だったので出かける準備をした。先日はアメリカに帰る友達と会うのは最後だったと思ったが、なんとなく今日はご飯にした。
前に彼女を友達に紹介して二人が仲良くできたから、彼女も誘った。こちらは緊急事態宣言になっているので夜９時にお店が閉まるようになったから一時間しかいられなかったが、一時間だったのにすごく楽しかった。彼女はまだ英語をそこまで喋られないけど、頑張って喋られようとしてたから嬉しい。友達も頑張って日本語を話そうとしていた。俺が通訳しないといけないときはあったけど、一生懸命に頑張って喋れようとする彼女を見ると、彼女のことやっぱり好きだな。
お店を出て友達とハッグしてバイバイして、彼女と一緒にバスを乗って帰った。さすがに寂しい。しかし、帰りに隣に座る彼女もいて、別れは出会いの始まりだなと思った。人生は辛いときがあっても生きているのがやっぱり好き。
今日はもう疲れている

Ma famille
Aujourd’hui je vais parler de ma famille. Ma soeur a les yeux verts et les cheveux longs et châtains. Elle est ambitieuse et amusante, et elle a une forte personnalité. Depuis quelque temps, elle a pu canaliser cet esprit de compétition en direction d’accomplissement productifs, mais quand elle était toute petite, elle était vraiment irascible. Elle n’avait pas de patience avec ses camarades de classe, donc elle disputais souvent avec eux. Mes parents voulaient qu’elle joue au football comme tous les autres enfants dans le voisinage, mais en moins de deux heures, ma soeur s’était battu avec l’entraîneur, et on l’a viré de l’équipe ! Mon frère et moi, on a trouvé ça assez drôle, mais nos parents n’étaient pas contents.
Maintenant, ma soeur adore toujours le sport et elle joue au tennis. En plus, elle est travailleuse, et l’école compte beaucoup pour elle. Comme tous les élèves d’onzième classe, elle se préoccupe des demandes d’admission et pense à l’avenir tout le temps. Je crois que son rêve est de devenir chirurgien traumatologue dans la salle d’urgence, mais ce rêve change souvent, donc je ne suis pas sûre à 100%. Peut-être qu’elle veut devenir épidémiologiste ou neuroscientifique. En tout cas, elle a seulement 16 ans, donc elle a beaucoup de temps pour décider.
Mon frère est un peu plus calme et sociable. Il ne rassamble pas du tout à ma soeur et moi. En fête, de temps en temps, quand nous expliquons que nous sommes frère et soeurs, on ne nous croit pas. Moi, j’ai le teint un peu plus sombre, avec les yeux marron et les cheveux brûns et bouclés, pendant que mon frère a les cheveux blonds et les yeux verts. En outre, il est est assez grand, alors que je suis plus petite. Nous différons aussi en termes de personnalité. Il est plus extraverti et sociable, tandis que j’ai tendance à être plus timide est introvertie. Avant la pandémie, il passait les vendredi et samedi soirs en sortant avec ses amis et allant à des fêtes. Quant à moi, je préférais rester seule chez moi, lire des livres et me coucher tôt.

Personal Time During Business Trips
In an effort to spend more interesting time during my business trips, I usually have a tight plan after getting off work.
When I went to Warsaw in Poland, I always left the office at 5 pm and took a walk to the famous museums.
I visited two museums near the office ; War memorial museum and train museum.
And I went to the old town of Warsaw, where there are Warsaw national museum, Marie Curie museum and Chopin museum.
When I visited Calgary in Canada, I went to the central avenue where charming tram is operating.
In the avenue, I could buy history books about Canada, got a stamp that Queen Elizabeth on it.
In Nanjing, China, I went many shops related with teas and tea potteries.
But I think, it is more interesting when I travel not by business trip but by my vacation.

Vaccine
On Monday night, the school informed that free COVID-19 vaccinations were available and registration was required. But the deadline was at 15:00 on Tuesday. Oi gente! Estou experimentando com traduzir letras de inglês para o português. Em geral, posso traduzir músicas de português para inglês, mas na direção contrária é um pouco mais difícil.

Что такая красота?
Мне кажется, что, в последнее время, речь часто идёт о стандартах красоты, особенно для женщин. Заметно, что каждая культура определяет красоту по-другому, и эти определения меняются с течением времени. В пятидесятые годы считали, что пышная, полная женщина – олицетворение красоты. В 90-е годы вошла в моду тенденция "героиновый шик", а теперь стройные, тонированные фигуры являются предпочтительными. В определенной степени такие явления неизбежны, но мне всё-таки ненавистная мысль, что существует только одна форма красоты, особенно учитывая, что такие идеи отрицательно влияют на благосостояния девочек и женщин. А ещё, у кого-то может быть очень привлекательная внешность, но это не значит, что он приличный человек. И наоборот, у многих замечательных людей обыкновенные внешности. Вот почему я читаю романы, а не журналы мода.
